Cookie Policy Information
At Extrared, we value transparency. In compliance with current regulations, here’s everything you need to know about the various types of cookies and which ones we use on the website.
Extended Cookie Policy Information for the website www.extrared.it
In accordance with Reg. EU 2016/679 and Art. 13 of Legislative Decree no. 196/03, GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), this policy explains what cookies are and describes the various types of cookies used on the website www.extrared.it (hereinafter referred to as the “Website”). It also supplements the data processing policy available at https://www.extrared.it/informazioni-legali.
Cookies are small text files that websites send and save on the user's computer or mobile device, which are then sent back to the same sites upon the user's next visit. Cookies allow the website to remember user actions and preferences (e.g., login data, preferred language, font size, display settings, etc.) so these do not have to be re-entered when the user returns to the website or navigates between pages. Cookies are therefore used to perform IT authentications, monitor sessions, and store information about the activities of users accessing a website. They may also contain a unique identifier to track user navigation within the site for statistical or advertising purposes. During website navigation, users may also receive cookies from other sites or web servers (so-called “third-party cookies”). Certain operations could not be performed without the use of cookies, which are technically necessary for some website functionalities.
There are various types of cookies based on their characteristics and functions, which can remain on the user’s computer or mobile device for different periods. Cookies can be classified as:
- “Session cookies,” which are deleted immediately when the browsing session ends;
- “Persistent cookies,” which remain in the browser for a specific period of time. These are used, for example, to recognize a device connecting to a site and facilitate user authentication processes;
- “First-party cookies,” which are generated and managed directly by the website operator on which the user is browsing;
- “Third-party cookies,” which are generated and managed by parties other than the website operator on which the user is browsing.
Under current Italian law, not all cookies require the user’s explicit consent for their use. In particular, technical cookies, which are used solely to transmit communication over an electronic communication network or strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user, do not require such consent. In other words, these are cookies indispensable for the website's functioning or necessary to perform user-requested activities.
The Italian Data Protection Authority (see General Measure “Identification of simplified methods for informing and obtaining consent for the use of cookies – May 8, 2014”) includes the following under technical cookies that do not require explicit consent:
- “Analytics cookies” when used directly by the website operator to collect aggregate information about the number of users and how they visit the website;
- Navigation or session cookies (e.g., for authentication, purchases, etc.);
- Functional cookies that enable navigation according to selected criteria (e.g., language, selected products for purchase) to improve the user experience.
Conversely, for profiling cookies, which are designed to create user profiles and send advertising messages aligned with the user’s preferences while browsing the web, prior consent is required.
Cookies Used on the Website
The Website may use the following types of cookies:
- First-party session and persistent cookies necessary to enable navigation on the Website, for internal security, and system administration purposes;
- Third-party, non-persistent cookies to protect the Website from spam;
- Third-party persistent cookies used by the Website to send statistical information to analytics systems, through which the Data Controller can conduct statistical analysis of Website access/visits.
This site uses only essential technical cookies for its proper functioning. No analytics or profiling cookies are installed.
