Coopservice: Increasing Agility and Reducing Costs with an Integrated Technological Solution
event16/02/2022
Coopservice is a cooperative service company with over 17,000 employees, directly providing energy and facility management services, security and surveillance, goods handling and logistics, cleaning and sanitation.
In the project, the application delivery paradigm was revised, transitioning from monolithic logics to microservices logics, automating the API publication steps on Red Hat 3Scale. All of this led to improved efficiency, reduced costs, and faster development and deployment times.
A complex yet fundamental action within the project was directing the diverse ecosystem of the Client's suppliers toward a unified deployment platform, aimed at hosting all legacy applications compatible with the new microservices components.
One of the achieved objectives was to minimize downtime and updates by having a unified tool, thereby lowering the management and maintenance costs of the technological platform itself.
The solution is based on Red Hat OpenShift clusters, microservices were built using the SpringBoot and Quarkus frameworks, and their management is carried out using Red Hat's 3Scale API Management, while Apache Camel was used for system integration, Kafka for flow management, and finally, Tekton was used for CI/CD.
